YHS-UK

The Early Career Branch of the British Hydrology Society (BHS) aims to gather early careers from academia and industry to network and share good practices. To do so, the BHS and the Young Hydrologic Society (YHS) launched a funny and creative seminar series, inspired by the cartoon Pokémon, for early career hydrologists to showcase their work in their most preferred way, either slides, stitches, or videogames.

If you are interested in learning more about the seminar series, please subscribe to the seminar newsletter: https://forms.office.com/e/vkjCqhHHgM.

Also, I encourage you to be an active member of the BHS. The BHS provides conference grants, MSc/MRes Programmes scholarships, and Dissertation Prices. If you are interested in joining the BHS, please visit: https://www.hydrology.org.uk/join_bhs_rev.php.

Follow the BHS on its social to keep updated with its activities: https://twitter.com/britishhydrosoc.

Every year the BHS organises a gathering of early-career hydrologists in a different UK city to remember the legacy of Peter Wolf, who set the Hydrology discipline in the UK. The Peter Wolf is usually held at the end of the Spring Season. You can read more about him at: http://www.history-of-hydrology.net/mediawiki/index.php?title=Wolf,_Peter_O.

The Peter Wolf gatherings are the best way to discover the cutting-edge hydrology research being carried out in UK institutions like Universities, Engineering Firms, and Research Institutes.

The current UK National Representative of Early Career Hydrologists is Mr. Giuseppe Degan Di Dieco, Civil Engineer at CivilMind Engineering Ltd., you can email him at degan@civilmind.uk to suggest fresh ideas, EDI policies, publish your short hydrology story, and more.

Please, visit the main BHS website to read its quarterly magazine “Circulation”, and discover the benefits of being a BHS member.

BHS annual subscription fees are £30 for individual membership or £15 for concessionary memberships, like for students.

We need you and your ideas! Just come along, anyone is welcome!
