YHS-NL at the Boussinesq Day
We are thrilled to share the recent Boussinesq Day, held on the 5th of October at the prestigious KNAW Amsterdam. The Boussinesq day brought together researchers and PhDs from different universities in the Netherlands to discuss advancements, share insights, and foster collaboration. The presentations throughout the day showcased cutting-edge research in various hydrology domains. Jay Famiglietti was the key lecturer this year, presenting the relevance of remote sensing for hydrology and demonstrating his experience in engaging with general audience.
Graphical Abstract Contest: Integrating Hydrology Research Topics
The main YHS-NL activity was the Graphical Abstract Contest, where participants presented their research visually. After brief discussions they integrated different hydrology research topics, showcasing the interdisciplinary nature of hydrological studies.
Winners: Agricultural Water Use Integration
A highlight among the winning team was the innovative integration of agricultural water use into the broader hydrological landscape. This winning graphical abstract stood out for its creativity, clarity, and the ability to communicate complex ideas in a visually engaging manner. The creators demonstrated the crucial role of hydrology in understanding and managing agricultural water resources.
YHS-NL meet-up at EGU in Vienna
Also this year many young hydrologists joined the EGU General Assembly in Vienna. It was a week full of interesting and motivational presentations, nice coffees, beers and dinners, and of course the YHS-NL lunch! Wednesday 26 April we met along the Danube river, where we took a well-deserved break. It was really nice to see many young hydrologists also in Vienna!
